Helping Somerset Thrive: our impact’

This year marks a milestone for Thrive as we unveil our first Impact Report under our new name – a name that reflects our commitment to building stronger communities and brighter futures across Somerset.

Over the past 12 months, Thrive has supported 18,854 people – around one in every thirty Somerset residents – through practical help, building relationships, and collaborating to deliver community-led solutions.

From Village Agents offering support at nearly 40 talking cafes and providing early support for unpaid carers, to initiatives tackling fuel poverty and isolation, our work is rooted in local connection. Seventy three percent of people we worked with reported feeling more confident, and 81% said their wellbeing improved. These numbers tell a powerful story of resilience and hope.

Our Together events brought 7,250 attendees from 40 nationalities, creating spaces for belonging and cultural exchange. We supported 159 community buildings, delivered 23 energy audits, and helped save 152 tonnes of CO₂, showing that sustainability and social wellbeing go hand in hand.

Beyond direct support, Thrive is working to shape systems and policy – aiming to influence housing, transport, and health strategies to ensure rural voices are heard. Collaboration remains at the heart of our approach, with partnerships spanning local networks, councils, and national forums.

As we look ahead to our centenary year in 2026, our promise is clear: to keep listening, adapting and working alongside communities so everyone in Somerset can thrive.
