CHAMPIONING DIVERSITY
somerset diverse communities
We support and coordinate Together events across Somerset that celebrate diversity, strengthen community connections and bring people together. Through our Race and Identity work, we provide advice, guidance and resources for schools, teachers and organisations on race, identity and responding to racial discrimination. We also work with children and young people to promote cultural understanding, strengthen belonging and build pride in individual identity.
Community voice and engagement remain at the heart of everything we do, ensuring lived experience helps shape local services, decision-making and positive change. By celebrating diversity, tackling inequalities and amplifying under-represented voices, we help create more inclusive communities across Somerset.

interfaith and belief
Strong communities are built when everyone feels heard, valued and able to take part. Through our Interfaith and Belief work, we bring people together, support community leadership and create opportunities for people to share their experiences and shape positive change. We coordinate the Somerset Interfaith and Belief Network, helping to build understanding, connection and collaboration across Somerset.
welcome to all
Moving to a new community can be challenging, but feeling welcome can make all the difference. Welcome to All supports displaced people and communities across Somerset, helping individuals and families connect with local services, opportunities, and support networks. By working alongside trusted community organisations, we help create communities where everyone has the chance to belong and thrive.

translating and interpreting
Good communication helps people feel informed, included and understood. Our translation and interpreting service supports organisations to communicate clearly with the communities they serve. Delivered by experienced, trusted professionals, the service provides accurate, sensitive, and confidential support across a wide range of languages, helping make services more accessible for everyone.

CHAMPIONING DIVERSITY
health equity and inclusion
People can face different barriers when accessing support, and these barriers are not always easy to see. Through community conversations, lived experience and partnership working, we help organisations better understand the needs of diverse and underserved communities.
